BOCC

Bristol Outdoor Cinema Club

Friends showing films outside. In Bristol. Where it rains. Yes, we have considered this. No, it has not changed anything.

BEDSHEET  ·  BEAM  ·  CRATE  ·  WHIPPET
A park. A car park. Somebody’s allotment. That flat bit of grass behind the leisure centre. Wherever the extension lead reaches, that is the venue.

The Kit

The Rules

1. Bring a chair. 2. Bring a coat. 3. Bring snacks. 4. No talking. 5. Except at the good bits. 6. Rule 4 has never once been enforced.

The Forecast

{{ forecastLine }} We call it atmosphere and charge nothing for it.

What’s On

Sun 20th Sept ’26

Best in Show (2000), PG, 90m

Expect: one folding table, brought for no stated reason. A raffle nobody organised. An interval of indeterminate length while the remote is located in the grass. Possibly a moth.

Previously Shown

Fri 30th May ’25

Rubber (2010), 15, 82m

Watched in near silence. Discussed for eleven weeks. Nobody has recovered and nobody will elaborate.

Sun 4th May ’25

The Matrix (1999), 15, 136m

Projected onto a slight slope, so everything leaned. Two chairs collapsed. A dog attended, uninvited, and stayed for the whole thing.

How To Join

Stand in a Bristol park at dusk and say “BOCC” out loud. If a projector whirrs on behind you, you are a member. If nothing happens, try a different park, or a slightly different tone.

There is no form. There was a form. It blew into the lake.
